In some instances, there are other factors that can play a key role; for example student athletes or students with very unique talents. Does the college/university have your major? (Hopefully you have done your research on this and the answer is yes, then you can ask questions about the strengths of the department.) Is the institute a teaching or research based facility? What is the average class size? How often do you interact with a TA instead of the professor? (Does the professor have office hours?) What is the graduation rate for your major? Does the college/university provide help getting internship and/or employment upon graduation? Are there opportunities to do undergraduate research?
